THE VIETNAM WAR : TV SERIES

I’ve just been watching the 10 part series on the Vietnam War that was done by Ken Burns.

An amazing series taking in lots of different perspectives on the war. I think it’s on Netflix.

And it was a giant production too – costing more than 30 million dollars and taking more than 10 years to make.

While researching the documentary they looked at more than 24000 photographs and 1500 hours of archival footage. And there are scenes cover in 25 different battles during the war.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, current members of the band Nine Inch Nails, were tasked to score the series, and provide both original music and a compilation soundtrack of popular songs.

It’s a very American perspective because it was produced originally for American TV. But I’d be interested to see in what Aussie veterans think about how it depicted what happened.

The series received a whopping 98% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
